The evaluation commission of the Challenges-Collaboration call, defined in article 19.9 of the Resolution of December 27, 2017, reunited with date 07/09/2018, has resolved to propose the granting of grants to the project with title NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF IRRIGATION WITH DESALINATED MARINE WATER.
This project is financed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, within the Challenges call, and co-financed by the European Union for technological development, innovation and quality research. The beneficiary entities of this aid that will carry out the project are:

Challenges of the Society: Food safety and quality; productive and sustainable agrarian activity, natural resources, marine research and agriculture.
Goals:
The present project represents a multidisciplinary research work of high scientific-technical quality. The project will develop knowledge and management practices for sustainable agriculture using desalinated seawater (AMD) as a water resource. The main objective of this proposal is to analyze the technical requirements and the technological innovations necessary to achieve a supply and sustainable management of the AMD in irrigated agriculture, with the general purpose of strengthening its resilience as a key productive, economic and social sector in Mediterranean regions with serious problems of water scarcity.
